Privacy Policy

Your documents stay under your control.

This policy explains how EasyScanner handles document and ID images, recognized text, pages, folders, tags, signatures, PDF passwords, local backups, exports, and purchases on iPhone and iPad, and when a copy moves to a destination you choose.

01Platforms and scope

EasyScanner is a local-first document and ID capture, review, and organization app for iPhone and iPad. The current release does not require an EasyScanner account and does not automatically synchronize the document library through a Codekenz-operated server.

This policy applies to the app. The Codekenz website has separate necessary storage and optional analytics settings that do not run inside EasyScanner.

02Content you enter or select

You may capture, import, or create content including:

  • Images of documents, IDs, receipts, cards, books, slides, and whiteboards.
  • Document names, folders, tags, favorites, page order, filters, crop, and rotation.
  • Arabic or English text recognized by OCR and text or search results you choose to use.
  • Visible signatures, watermarks, and passwords you provide to protect or open a PDF.
  • Files you choose to import or export, including PDF, image, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ZIP results.
  • App language, appearance, App Lock, saving, and export preferences.

EasyScanner processes this content to perform the action you request and display the result before saving or sharing.

03Local storage and network use

The EasyScanner library is stored in the app’s local space on your device. EasyScanner does not automatically send document images, OCR text, filenames, paths, or page boundaries to Codekenz or a Codekenz-operated server.

Capture, review, organization, search, and most document tools work without a continuous connection. Displaying the Lifetime Pro price, purchasing, and restoring rely on Apple services and may require a connection. The operating system may use Apple services to prepare an OS-managed language or model; EasyScanner does not select a remote server to receive document content.

04Camera, images, and files

EasyScanner requests Camera access when you start camera capture. Import uses system pickers to select specific images or files. Add-only Photos access is requested when you choose to save a copy to Photos.

You choose the source and destination. EasyScanner does not use Camera, images, or files for advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking.

The Files interface may display local locations or cloud file providers that you added to the system. After you choose a destination outside EasyScanner, that provider handles its copy under its own policy.

05OCR and local document understanding

OCR, image processing, and document analysis use approved system frameworks and local engines in the app. EasyScanner does not send document images or text to a Codekenz-operated OCR service.

Available languages and capabilities may vary by OS version, device, and installed Apple resources. A scanned image is not text-searchable until OCR succeeds and produces text for that document.

06Protection, Face ID, and passwords

When you enable App Lock, EasyScanner uses the local authentication provided by the operating system, such as Face ID, to protect app access. Codekenz does not receive Face ID data or a biometric template.

The library and Protected Folder may use local encryption through Apple frameworks. PDF passwords you provide are used for the requested local operation. Keep passwords safely; Codekenz Support cannot recover them.

App Lock and PDF protection are different: App Lock protects access to EasyScanner on the device, while PDF protection secures a file used outside the app.

07PDF, images, Office, sharing, and printing

When you create or share a PDF, image, Office file, OCR text, ZIP, or print job, you start the action and choose the destination. Files, Photos, mail, messaging, printing services, or recipients then handle their copy under their own terms.

Exported files may contain document content, names, recognized text, signatures, or watermarks you selected. Review the content and recipient before saving, sharing, or printing. Copies that you export or share independently outside EasyScanner are not deleted automatically when you delete the source in the app. A managed Persistent Files copy follows the separate in-app storage controls described below.

If you configure Persistent Files storage with a folder and password, EasyScanner writes committed regular documents to that folder as password-protected PDFs that can survive app deletion. This is persistent storage, separate from the local ZIP backup, and is not a complete backup by itself. Moving a document to Protected Folder queues one final outside update, which may remain pending while the folder is unavailable. The external PDF remains outside App Lock and is not updated again while the document is protected. You remain responsible for its password, access controls, retention, and deletion at that destination.

08Backup, import, and recovery

You can create a local ZIP from active document PDFs and import it later. This ZIP is unencrypted, and anyone with access can open its included PDFs. You choose where to save it, including a local location or a file provider configured on the device.

Protected Folder and Trash items are excluded from the local ZIP. Import adds PDF documents from an EasyScanner backup without deleting documents already in the library.

Library recovery mode may create a protected recovery package to preserve evidence when metadata cannot be verified. Files in the package remain encrypted and cannot be opened as ordinary PDFs without the original encryption keys. Technical filenames remain visible inside the ZIP. The recovery screen and package do not automatically repair, reset, or delete the library. Keep any encrypted device backup from when the library worked because it may contain the original keys.

09App Store purchases and Lifetime Pro

Apple processes the non-consumable Lifetime Pro purchase and restore through StoreKit and the App Store. Codekenz does not receive payment-card or banking information, and the App Store displays the localized price before purchase.

EasyScanner verifies Pro entitlement from verified StoreKit evidence. Apple may remove entitlement after a refund or revocation. Restoring a purchase is separate from restoring documents or local ZIP files. Future AI or cloud credits are not included in the current Lifetime Pro purchase.

10Diagnostics and logs

EasyScanner does not log document images, OCR text, filenames, file paths, exact page-boundary coordinates, or location data for tracking or analytics.

The current release contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDK. The app may keep local operational state required for library recovery, quotas, and settings; it is not automatically sent to Codekenz.

11Retention and deletion

Documents and local data remain on the device until you delete them through app controls, empty Recently Deleted where applicable, or remove the app or its data through the operating system.

EasyScanner requests confirmation before destructive deletion. PDF, image, Office, ZIP, and backup copies saved outside the app remain in their destinations until you delete them there.

Deleting the local library does not erase Apple’s purchase record or data held by an external destination you selected.

12Contacting Codekenz and the website

Contacting Support is optional. If you email Codekenz or use WhatsApp on the website, Codekenz receives the email address or account details, message text, screenshots, and attachments you choose to send for response and follow-up.

Send the minimum information needed. Do not send a password, payment-card details, a sensitive document, or a complete library by default.

The Codekenz website may use necessary storage and optional analytics after consent. Website analytics do not mean the EasyScanner app collects data or uses tracking.

13Children and age

EasyScanner is a general document tool and is not directed specifically to children. It does not request a birth date or create child accounts. The device owner or parent controls access to the device and documents. If a child sends information to Codekenz Support by mistake, a parent can contact us to request deletion of the support message where applicable.

14Security

EasyScanner uses the app’s private storage and Apple frameworks for protection, files, sharing, and purchases. No software or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Protect the device with a screen lock, keep the OS updated, review recipients before sharing, and store passwords and unencrypted ZIP files in trusted locations.

15Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy when EasyScanner features, platform services, or legal requirements change. The current version date appears at the top of the page.
